【日本のお札】絵柄・意味を説明できる？（日本語・English）

今日はお札についても、説明したいと思います。
また、次回はここで使う英語表現についても詳しく解説するので
それも楽しみにしていてくださいね(^▽^)/
まずは読み物として、日本語と英語で楽しんでもらえたら嬉しいです。
このように、日本の紙幣（しへい）には4種類ありますね。
As you can see on the left,
there are 4 kinds of paper money in Japan.
2000円札もあまり有名ではないですが、
リクエストをくださった方もいるので
是非紹介しましょう(^▽^)
2000 yen is not so famous, but i received some request, so let's introduce about that as well.
見ているとサイズも少しずつ違うみたいですね。
As you can see, each size seems a little different, too.
①1000円札
【表】
2種類出回っています
１つは古いもので、上の写真にある「夏目漱石（なつめそうせき）」です。小説家。1984年から
2つ目は「野口英世（のぐちひでよ）」で、お札に載るには初めての科学者です。2004年から
2 kinds of 1000 yen go around the world.
1st one is the old one. In the picture above, the person called 'Soseki Natsume' is drawn. He is a novel writer. Used since 1984.
2nd one is 'Hideyo Noguchi', the first scientist on paper money. Since 2004.
【裏】
1万円が鳥、5千円が花のモチーフなのに対して、バランスを取って風景が描かれています。
富士山と桜です。日本の国民が馴染みのある風景ですね。
Bird for 10000 yen, flower for 5000 yen, balanced to that, a landscape is drawn on the back side of 1000 yen. Mt. Fuji and Sakura (Cherry Blossom). These 2 are something Japanese people are familiar with.
②5000円札
【表】
女性の社会進出の進展に配意し、「樋口一葉（ひぐちいちよう）」が描かれています。小説家
To show the respect of women's social advancement, a lady 'Ichiyo Higuchi' is drawn. She is also writer.
【裏】
「燕子花図（かきつばたず）」(尾形光琳作)
表面が女性であることから、花をモチーフにするのが適当と考え、国宝級の美術品を描きました。
As a lady shown on the front side, using flower motif would be proper, then they drew national treasure works of art.
③10000円札
【表】
「福沢諭吉（ふくざわゆきち）」
最高額にふさわしいように、一般的にも、国際的にも、知名度が高い明治以降の文化人の中から選ばれるそうです。武士としても活躍し、「学問のすすめ」を書いた人物。
'Yukichi Fukuzawa' --- someone suits for the most valuable amount of money, people chose the person who is famous enough in general and also over the world, a cultural elite after the Meiji era (period).
He also stood out as a samurai warrior, and later on, wrote a famous book 'Gakumon no Susume'
【裏】
鳳凰（ほうおう）という鳥が描かれています。日本の国宝である宇治平等院の鳳凰堂の鳳凰像を素材としています。
Phoenix bird is drawn on back side. Phoenix statue in Uji Byodoin temple, Japanese national treasure, is a source of motif.
④2000円札
【表】
沖縄の守礼門（おきなわのしゅれいもん）
実は、2000円が発行されたのは2000年だそうです！
九州・沖縄サミットが開催されることとなっていたことから、その図柄には沖縄のものがふさわしいと考え、沖縄の建造物の中から、戦前には国宝に指定されていた守礼門を採用したそうです。
Shurei Gate [Okinawa]
in fact, year 2000 was the time 2000 yen was published.
As a summit was going to be held in Kyushu/Okinawa area in japan, people thought something from Okinawa would be suitable for the picture. They chose Shurei Gate from Okinawa's historical architectures, which used to be chosen as a national treasure before world war.
【裏】
「源氏物語絵巻（げんじものがたりえまき）」と「紫式部日記絵巻（むらさきしきぶにっきえまき」
源氏物語が、今からおよそ千年前の平安時代中期、紫式部により書かれた、我が国が世界に誇るべき文学作品であることから、採用したそうです。
The Tale of Genji is one of the most respectable literary works in Japan, which was written by 'Murasaki Shikibu' about 1000 years ago.
